I've had the most interesting week...
some days I felt seriously frustrated
but then decided I may as well see the humor in it all.
Plus, I read this blog that documented a mother's journey through sorrow after the death of her child, and reading that helps keep everything in perspective and reminds me I have so much to be thankful for.
I sometimes wonder what my boys will come up with next, and then they melt my heart all over again by giving me a hug n kisses or they bring their blanket to me and just want to snuggle.
I'm gonna share some of their 'accomplishments' and I hope it brings a smile to your face too.
This week I bought a 5 gallon bucket of very ripe tomatoes and when I came home, it was dinner time so I set them inside the door and told the boys to leave them alone. I finished cooking dinner and we ate and then I let the boys go play. I decided to wash my dishes and fold some laundry before I tackle the tomatoes. I was wrapping up folding laundry and the boys were in the kitchen when I heard both of them really giggle. I quickly finished and walk around the corner to see Travis grab another tomato and throw it and when it hit the floor, juice splattered and they both giggled again. He had made quick work of it and had a good amount of tomatoes on the floor. He went into time out and instead of just having tomatoes to can, I also had a floor to clean. The upside is that I got a jump start on my weekend cleaning.
Today I washed more laundry and the boys really like to 'help'. I can't bring myself to turn them down and so they put wash in and out of the dryer and help fold. I was putting laundry away and then Travis wanted to take some wash too so I told him he can take the washcloths into the bathroom. I grabbed a stack of my clothes to put in our bedroom and thought I could beat him to the bathroom anyway. I come out of the bedroom and Travis is walking back to the living room, empty handed. I ask him where the washcloths are and he puts up 2 hands and says "all gone". I looked in the bathroom, in the tub and also through the rest of the house and no washcloths! All of a sudden, it hit me. He loves putting things in the trash can. Yup, there they were. I couldnt help but laugh! Thankfully I had just put a new bag in the trash can so the washcloths didn't get dirty.
Adrian is the taller of the two and he has figured out how to grab what he wants off my counters. Yesterday, he proved his skills by standing on tiptoe and reaching the bag of M&Ms that I got to make cookies. Two little boys can quickly make a dent in a bag of M&Ms!
Adrian also thinks that one bath per day isn't enough. He finds ways to make them happen more often if he can. Example: He got into the bath tub and got Ben's soap down and got some soap out of the bottle. Little genius! So I took his clothes off and put water in the tub and let him have what he worked so hard for! :)
I am so thankful for my boys! they keep my life interesting. Being a Mom is alot of work but so worth it and I'm so proud to be a mom to these 2.
I love you, Adrian and Travis! God has taught me so much through you two and I am so grateful.
Good night!
~Carolyn
